Arthur Ransome is one of the most famous and bestselling children’s authors. His stories about boats, spies and adventures for children are classics of their kind. The Estate of Arthur Ransome (via Random House Group) kindly gave permission for Art Meets Matter to create and adapt the original Jonathan Cape covers to an exclusive set of porcelain mugs. It was an important consideration that the company was already known to only create designs of quality that they gave this rare permission.
So halcyon days are back again with these unique porcelain mug designs. Based on the original bestselling stories by Arthur Ransome the four designs reflect the original look and feel of the classic dust jackets published by Jonathan Cape. Exclusively designed and produced by Art Meets Matter Ltd as part of its ‘novel’ ceramics series ‘published in porcelain’. The design series is already in demand from leading design lead retail and bookshops.

The National Records Office released two reconstituted government files concerning Arthur Ransome's years in Russia and, as a result the BBC commissioned a documentary film in which Griff Rhys Jones investigated whether Ransome was a British spy or a Bolshevik sympathiser during the Russian Revolution in 1917.
