Welcome to the Art Meets Matter All Zones ® Collection.
All Zones is a unique collection based on the classic 20th century design icon – the ‘tube’ map. It is a growing range of digital materials and digital objects positioned for the design-conscious, visually literate 21st century citizen.
In collaboration with London’s Transport Museum, Art Meets Matter designer Tony Davis has created a number of unique objects and materials. |

 |
The range explores design objects – such as espresso demi-tasse and ‘digital materials’ in the form of fabric, flooring, wallpaper, and ceramic tiles. They all exploit the inherent design qualities of the original London Underground Diagram designed by Harry Beck in 1931. These qualities include: abstract geometry, modernity, the heritage of colour, familiarity, and a sense of place.
Every section of the diagram is rich in cultural and design potential. It illustrates the diversity of the London Underground Diagram as a design source — providing unique, new views of a visual icon seen by millions of people every day.
By taking a sideways look at this familiarity and honestly looking to create objects and designs based on these intrinsic qualities Art Meets Matter has given a new way to look at the Tube and London itself. |
